Nadia Rihani
KPJAYI Level 2 Authorised
Nadia Rihani is an Advanced Ashtanga Yoga Practitioner and teacher of Ashtanga who has over twenty years experience teaching Yoga. In 2014, after several trips to the Ashtanga Institute in Mysore, India, Nadia received her teacher’s Sharath’s blessing to teach and received her Level 2 Authorisation.
Nadia has been practicing Yoga since 2001 and loves that this practice has taken her all over the world. She has taught in Australia, Sweden, Spain, India and Indonesia.
In 2011 Nadia founded Yoga Village, an authentic Yoga studio in Sydney’s Potts Point which offered various styles of Yoga, including Ashtanga Yoga which Nadia taught, Mysore style alongside her husband Gabriel.
After handing over the studio to a new owner in 2019 Nadia did a teaching tour of Europe and returned home to Sydney where she was soon thereafter hit by a car and suffered debilitating injuries that rendered her unable to walk for many months and from which she is still rehabilitating from now. Throughout this period Nadia has remained a dedicated practitioner of Ashtanga Yoga and has rebuilt her practice again from scratch, to now practicing Advanced A series.
Nadia has two children and practiced Ashtanga throughout both pregnancies, and heavily called upon the teachings of Ashtanga Yoga to help her with the ups and downs of parenthood.
Nadia is a firm believer that our biggest limitation is the mind, and that the body is capable of much more than we believe possible. By listening to our bodies, and distinguishing the difference between what is truth and what is fear or a mental block, we can open ourselves up to endless possibilities.
When Nadia is not teaching yoga she is working as a nutritionist helping women in their 40’s balance their hormones and gain energy and mental clarity through their diet.
